This site will have general information and links to various informative sites.
As we have recently started this chapter, it will take a bit of time to full develop the website. Here is some basic information about tribeta. It is a national biological honor society with an emphasis on scholarship, undergraduate research, and disseminating scientific knowledge. The Tech chapter will focus on undergraduate research and developing fellowhip among biology students. Although there is a grade requirement for full membership, associate members need only an interest in biology and are welcome to join. The requirements for full membership are to have a major in a biological science, completed three semesters (2nd semester sophomores), completed three courses in biology with one upper level biology course, have a B average in those biology courses, and be in good academic standing. If you do not meet those requirements, you can be an associate member and be promoted to full membership at a later date.
For upperclassman (those who have completed more than 12 hours of Biology), they are to have a minimum of a "B" average (3.0 GPA) in all the biology classes completed and an overall "B" average (3.0 GPA). Summer courses can be included as long as they are legitimate course offerings and are included in the calculation of the GPA. A "B" in just one Biology class would not qualify for membership at the regular membership category (the Honor Society level).
