Although you may feel that your ability to help is
limited, here are some ideas that you should consider.
- Contact government officials and express the need to
the further conservation of our wetlands.
- Before voting for local and national government
officials, research their views on environmental topics such
as the conservation of wetlands.
- If you are a wetland property owner, realize what a
precious gift of nature you own. Allow the wetland to
continue to thrive in its natural environment. Nearly
70% of wetlands are privately owned; help conserve your
wetland.
- If you are going to sell your land,
look to sell your land to an nonprofit organization that
conserves wetlands.
- Help others who are trying to
conserve by donating your time, money, and supplies.
- Encourage others to help conserve
also, especially if they own a wetland.
- Purchase the federal duck stamps at
your local post office to support wetland acquisition.
