Although you may feel that your ability to help is limited, here are some ideas that you should consider.

  • Contact government officials and express the need to the further conservation of our wetlands.
  • Before voting for local and national government officials, research their views on environmental topics such as the conservation of wetlands.
  • If you are a wetland property owner, realize what a precious gift of nature you own.  Allow the wetland to continue to thrive in its natural environment.  Nearly 70% of wetlands are privately owned; help conserve your wetland.
  • If you are going to sell your land, look to sell your land to an nonprofit organization that conserves wetlands.
  • Help others who are trying to conserve by donating your time, money, and supplies.
  • Encourage others to help conserve also, especially if they own a wetland.
  • Purchase the federal duck stamps at your local post office to support wetland acquisition.
