The specific aims of our first research project are to design and synthesize new ruthenium polypyridine complexes for photoreduction and photooxidation of biological redox centers and characterize the complexes by spectroscopic techniques. The specific aim of the second project is to develop a simple, rapid, reliable, inexpensive analytical method for the determination of pesticides. We use solid phase chromatography for extraction and gas chromatography for identification and quantitation.  For more information contact Dr. Bhuiyan.
