SERVICE TO MEMBERS

 The annual meeting, held every November, offers many formal and informal opportunities for professional development through special training sessions, sharing of research findings, and programmatic interests with colleagues. 

MSERA’s annual meeting is recognized by ERIC, and MSERA facilitates ERIC submission of papers presented at the annual meeting. At the annual meeting, awards are presented for the outstanding dissertation and the outstanding paper. 

Members also receive the following:

·        Subscription to the MSERA Researcher, which provides updates of the organization’s activities and other features of interest to the membership

·        Subscription to Research in the Schools, a refereed journal

·        Annual membership directory

·        Archives of the organization (on the campus of Mississippi State University) containing copies of papers presented at MSERA’s annual meetings and Proceedings of the annual meetings.

 There are many opportunities to develop and demonstrate leadership skills through the myriad MSERA activities. Members are encouraged to serve as chairs at the annual meeting sessions and to participate in governance of the organization through committee memberships.
